THE CALL
“Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:1-2)
Christians are called to live out their faith in the context of community. Since the time of Christ, God has chosen the church as the primary vehicle to accomplish His will and work on earth. Therefore, it is imperative that every Christian be a part of a healthy, Biblical, active, fellowship of believers.
PARTNERSHIP
At Grace, we consider members to be partners together for the purpose of the Gospel. Partners in an organization have “skin in the game” and are committed to the overall success of the organization. Members, on the other hand, tend to be focused on themselves and their own needs, and less concerned for the organization.
Those who partner with their local church are called to a higher degree of responsibility and service. At the same time, the elders and deacons are there to assist members first and foremost, to love and lead, provide counsel and aid, and pray for, teach, and guide them.
At Grace, there are three commitments for those who want to become partners:
1) COMMIT TO GOD
Our relationship with God, and our commitment to Him and His teachings, supersedes any commitments we may make to our family, friends, church, or any other organization. So, the question is; What does it mean to be a Christian?
“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)
A true Christian is a person who has put faith and trust in the person and work of Jesus Christ, including His death on the cross as payment for sins, and His resurrection on the third day.
2) COMMIT TO EACH OTHER
Partnering with Grace is like being part of a family. Everyone is unified in their common bond as a disciple of Jesus Christ. This means we all confess Jesus Christ as God and Savior, and identify with Christ through baptism according to scriptural standards.
This unity if further expressed in how we collaborate in following God, bonding with fellow Christians, and impacting the lives of non-Christians through the power of the Gospel.
3) COMMIT TO THE MISSION
The mission of Grace is “To make disciples who glorify God and serve Him.”
Partnering with Grace means committing to this mission as a diligent, faithful disciple of Jesus. It also means engaging in our church’s process to fulfill this mission.
